Mine site and flotation plant of Zamantı Madencilik Ltd. Şti. is in Akgüney village at Bakacak region within the administrative borders of Kabadüz County which is located at a distance of 35 KMs to Ordu Province.
1. GENERAL EVALUATION OF MINE SITE:
Mine field is located in the middle section of Doğu Ponitler and at the nearby areas; volcanic-sedimenter rocks formed between Late Cretaceous-Eocene ages and other different aged depth rocks (grandiorite, diorite, and monzonite) could be viewed. Andesites forming the side rock of ore formation are gray, partly brown and green, small crystals. They have faced hydrothermal resolution through the ore deposits. In here, main clay minerals formed due to hydrothermal resolution, less quartz, carbonates (calcid, dolomite) and pyrite could be viewed.
2. ORE FORMATION:
Ore deposits are hydrothermal based deposit type formations. Deposits are defined as Northern and Southern deposits. Northern deposit is in nearly N70° W direction and the southern deposit is in N50°-60°W direction.
It is a vast area and should be explored.
3. PROVEN AND POSSIBLE RESERVE :
Between years 1998-2007, there has been nearly 230.000 tons of ore production and procession is held. There’s still 20.000-25.000 tons of producible ore is available.
4. ORE MINERALS:
Ore minerals differs in amount between Northern and Southern deposits. In the northern deposit mainly Galenite, Xfalerit, less Chalcopyrite and pyrite could be viewed. In the southern deposit, beyond same minerals could be viewed, Chalcopyrite is more in amount in comparison to the northern deposit. Gang minerals are mostly formed in clay minerals, carbonates and less in quartz.
