Mine site is within the administrative borders of Şebinkarahisar county of Giresun province. It is located in the northwest of Şebinkarahisar County. Distance to the Centrum is 30 KMs, and to the Flotation facility is 12 KMs. The road to the mine is half asphalt-paved, half gravel road. The nearest residential area to the site is Dereköy which is located 1, 5 KMs far in the west.
1. GENERAL DEFINITION OF MINERAL DEPOSIT
The main rock (side rock) in the site is andesite and andesite tufa. The ore exists as massive deposits dependent to east/west fault system within the silicied andesites and partly dessiminated formations. Mine is a hydrothermal one.
There are pyrite and oxidized zones containing silicied iron oxides, located in the southern part of the area in which the study is held. In the mine which the work is done currently, there are 6 ore deposits in north/south direction.
2. PROVEN AND POTENTIAL RESERVE
There has been 14.000 mt underground and 11.000mt of aboveground explore drilling is done up to now. The underground and aboveground drillings are being held within the program
Proven Reserve 410.000 tons (% Zn 5.26 - % Pb 2, 21)
Potential Reserve 900.000 tons
Total 1.320.000 tons
3. GRADE DISPERSION IN THE MINERAL DEPOSIT
As in the general overview of the Mine site, the highest grade is the first deposit, and in orders the second deposit, fibers, third deposit, fourth deposit and north end deposit. The weakest ore in means of thickness and grade is the zone which is still open and previously partly produced by MORTAS Company.
The ore grades below the +1700 altitude figure descends below 5, 5% (Zn% + Pb %), and the copper grade decends below 0, 40% while the pyrite ratio increases.
In all deposits, the range that has the highest ore grades is between 1825-1850 elevations. The greatest part of the ore grades which is around a total of 13% (Zn%+Pb %) at that elevation is produced.
4. INCREASED IN ORE RESERVE
In the north-north west and south-south west regions of the mine site silicied, pyrited and limonite zones are continuing. Formation of new ore deposits is a high probability.
5. PRODUCTION VALUES;
Between the years 1987-2007; nearly 1.750.000 tons of ore production is done.
Production values and grades of the last three years are indicated below.
